In line with this commitment, all potential team members must successfully complete a national police check, a Working With Children Check, and the NDIS Worker Screening. Yes, Prema Care typically implements a six-month probation period to help new hires acclimate, develop their skills, and fully embrace their role. However, we understand that each person’s circumstances are unique. If an employee quickly demonstrates solid performance and alignment with our values, we may shorten this timeframe at our discretion. Additionally, individuals with prior industry experience may not require a formal probation period at all.

In Australia, there are no strict formal qualifications required to become a support worker; however, Prema Care does require First Aid certification and all previously mentioned screenings (Police Check, Working With Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening). While holding a valid driver’s license and having access to your own vehicle is not strictly mandatory, it’s highly preferred to help facilitate client visits. Above all, we value a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine commitment to providing quality care. If you bring these qualities, we’ll equip you with the training and resources needed to succeed in your role.
